LasFest 2023

The patron of the sixth edition of LasFest is King Deer - the most dignified inhabitant of the forest, evoking a unique aesthetic experience with his distinguished appearance, carefully selecting his recommendations, avoiding spreading antlers. The crown of the deer king is the fastest growing tissue of its kind in the world - it grows at an impressive pace, creating a unique form. During the growth, the antlers are very innervated, sensitive to stimuli and pain, later they harden, ossify, become an attractive attribute that evokes respect and appreciation. However, at some point, the king throws off his crown, thus loses his majesty. It is easier for the deer, it can make its way through bushy spaces, it has no desire to fight or seek recognition. This year's LasFest program, inspired by the Deer figure, will be a collection of the events that refer to various moments in the life of the forest patron. This year's edition will present both, sensitive theatrical experiments found at the moment of painful growth, as well as distinguished performances framed by an extensive form, events using aesthetically attractive means of expression, as well as shows abandoning spectacular formal solutions for a modest dialogue with the audience. LasFest 2023 – King Deer Edition will be a festival presenting theater with and without the crown.
