LasFest 2025
Bat Edition

The patron of the eighth edition of the International Theater Festival in the Forest, LasFest, is the Bat – a fascinating creature that often evokes radically different associations. A mammal that has mastered the art of flight and echolocation; a resident of both cities and natural spaces; a peculiar being that sleeps hanging upside down, perceived both as a threat and a savior.
Despite playing crucial roles in nature – from controlling insect populations to pollinating plants – the Bat has long struggled with the stereotype of being dangerous. A symbol of darkness, mystery, and menace, it frequently appears in culture as a grim harbinger: a vampire, a bloodsucker, a bringer of pandemics.
Yet behind this image lies a captivating world – the bat is a master of adaptation, moving gracefully through the dark, finding its way where other creatures falter. It’s no coincidence that one of the most iconic superheroes models himself after the Bat, striking fear into villains while earning the respect and gratitude of those in need.
LasFest 2025 – Bat Edition is a festival of confronting stereotypes and discovering new perspectives of light and shadow, reality and fantasy, fear and wonder.
