If we could and would see the plants move, would it change our relationship with them?
Would it affect the way we think about them and how we treat them? In the performance "Forest and People," choreographer Magda Jędra and her co-creators look at the mechanism of plant invisibility around which she develops her artistic practice. In the scientific world it is called "plant blindness" syndrome. Plants have no eyes, no ears, no neurons, yet they are able to register environmental changes and transmit information to each other. It is difficult to tell children about symbiosis, mycorrhiza and photosynthesis. "Forest and People" is an offer of a "cure" for plant blindness, with no age restrictions. The performance unfolds a dream-like landscape in front of those who attend, which allows one to physically delve into issues such as care and interdependence. It allows one to sink into an immersive world of plant and human movement, blurring the boundary between the stage and the audience.
